myofascitis pain syndrome (ayurveda)

what are the normal functions of muscles?

  • Mobility - when The muscles contract they contribute to GROSS and FINE movement
  • Stability - mmuscle tendon strecth over the joint and contributes joint stability
  • POSTURE   -Skeletal muscles help keep the body in the correct position when someone is sitting or standing. This is known as posture.

Circulation - Smooth muscle in the arteries and veins plays a further role in the circulation of blood around the BODY

Respiration When someone wants to breath more deeply, it requires help from other muscles, including those in the abdomen, back, and neck.

Digestion Smooth muscles in the gastrointestinal or GI tract control digestion. The GI tract stretches from the mouth to the anus.

Food moves through the digestive system with a wave-like motion called peristalsis. Muscles in the walls of the hollow organs contract and relax to cause this movement, which pushes food through the esophagus into the stomach.

The upper muscle in the stomach relaxes to allow food to enter, while the lower muscles mix food particles with stomach acid and enzymes.

The digested food moves from the stomach to the intestines by peristalsis. From here, more muscles contract to pass the food out of the body as stool.

  • Urination

urinary system comprises both smooth and skeletal muscles, including those in the:

    • bladder
    • kidneys
    • penis or vagina
    • prostate
    • ureters
  • urethra
OTHER than this child birth, vision, organ protection and temperature regulation are the functions of muscles

WHAT IS myofascial pain syndrome ?

Repeated muscle contraction of muscles which are supposed to be supporting your movements .Refferal pain through the trigger point on the muscles as a consequence of repeated actions that stress out the muscles .It is common that pain will b experienced by all of us after any physical activity that puts our muscles under pressure .Normally the pain will revolve roughly around a week but in some people the pain persist and leads into chronic painful conditions .

What causes the pain?

In myofascial pain syndrome ,the sensitive spots on the muscles which ache are called trigger points.THESE points develop in the fascia of the muscle commonly and are made up of muscle fibres that appear like ropy bands. The referral pain can b severely penetrating pain which is experienced when fibrous band face an above threshold level or in worst cases pressure can also b minimal. The pain can radiate to different parts of the body intensisfying the stark negative impact of muscle contraction .

When to understand it is not just a pain?

Check whether the nature of pain is persisting or fading over a short span of time. When trigger point of fascia send widespread pain throughout the body it can result in a feeling of tender muscles which are fragile to pain for even the mildest of pressure stimuli.

Ayurvedic view on myofacial pain? The food you are not taking on time or heavy food or untimely food is hampering the digestion.....During the digeston kapha dosha mix with impure blood and travel to different parts of the body....The place where it lodges it cause severe pain so we doctors give treatment  according to specific condition, sometimes it may b kashayam, choornam or ghritham.IN Some cases we provide treatment like nasyam, virechanam, vasti etc
