  • Pungent taste is called "katu rasa " in Sanskrit .
  • Pungent taste is light,drying and heating in nature

  4. lacrimation and secretion from nose and mouth 
  5. sharpens sense organ 
  6. increases digestion strength 
  7. Carminative 
  8. Helps to relieve intestinal worms 🪱 🐛 
  9. Worsens bleeding 🩸 
  10. Decreases sexual interest and performance 
  11. causes weight loss
  12. detoxyfying
  13. scrapes down muscle tissue 
  14. cure diseases like indigestion ,inflammation ,obesity ,urticaria ,chronic conjuctivitis

Asafoetida ,black pepper ,vidanga,ginger


Excessive pungent taste consumption symptoms 

1.impotency

2.causes unconsciousness ,wear and tear of joints,leaniness

3.constipation...urine and motion flow obstruction 

4.tiredness

5.dizziness 

6.burning sensation 

7.excessive thirst


WHILE TAKING FOOD -Pungent taste should b taken in the last part of the diet,after consuming sweet,sour and salt tastes


Contraindications - bleeding disorder,pittha disorder like burning sensation,high fever,gastritis,excessive thirst,very lean person,sexual disorder .peptic ulcer,asthma,colitis ,skin condition
