Summer climate routine according to ayurveda
Good morning how are you guys doing ? Tired of summer heat ....I AM HERE with some cool summer tips
Summer is π₯΅ hot ,bright and sharp ...the season of pittha....
- In the morning as part of your daily routine ,rub 5-6 ounces of coconut oil or sunflower oil on your body before bathing .Coconut oil is cooling ,calming and soothing to the skin.
- WEAR cotton or silk clothing ,it is cooling ,light and allows the skin to breathe .Loose fitting clothes are best ,they permit the air to pass through and cool the body.
- The best colours to wear in hot weather are white ,grey ,blue ,purple and green .
- AVOID black,red,dark yellow and orange which absorbs and retains heat and will aggravate pittha
Good fruits π π
- Apple , π pears π ,melon π ,plums and prune ..water melon and lime juice are also good for summer
- Steamed asparagus ,broccoli ,cucumber raita and basmati rice
- KITCHARI made of basmati rice and moong dal,with a little ghee and grated coconut,make a delicious light meal
Avoid sour fruit like citrus fruits ,beets and carrots ,which are all heating .
- Garlic π§ ,Onion π§ ,chilli πΆ ,tomato π ,sour cream and salted cheesees are also not recommended .
You can eat more salads in summer than at any other time ,as they are cooling ,but they are eaten best for lunch .
- IF you eat meat , you can have some light meat - chicken ,turkeys π¦ or shrimp π€ once a week
- Don’t drink Hot water or Hot drink In the Summer. Room temperature or cool drink are best.
- ICE and ICED drinks however inhibit digestion and create toxins in the body .it is best never to drink them
A refreshing drink is cool lassi.MIX 1 part yoghurt with 4 parts water, and blend 2 or 3 minutes until creamy.you can add 1/4 tsp of roasted cumin seeds before blending .
The juice π₯€ of 1/4 lime in a cup of cool water-with a pinch of cumin
powder is also refreshing .
Working in a π₯΅ kitchen provokes pittha.IF you cook cook in the early morning or evening
Avoid alcohol πΊ πΈ beverages ,whiskey ,brandy,rum,and red wine which are heating
THIS IS A SEASON OF generalized low energy so you can take a short nap in the day time
wear sun glasses outdoors during the brightest part of the day
- use air conditioner in your room for some time
- a swim in cool lake or pool,drink a little lime juice in water
- avoid strenous exercise
- mild yoga exercises and quite meditation twice a day
- perform shitali pranayama
- wear gems and jewellery that cool pittha
in the evening after dinner go for a walk in the moonlight
GO to bed a little later on summer night, around 11 pm.Rub some coconut oil on your scalp and soles of your feet for a cooling effect before going to sleep
- Sandal wood ,jasmine , and khus oils are cooling and are good fragrance to wear in summer
