 Monsoon climate and diet style


Rithucharya Or seasonal regimen is an ancient practice in Ayurveda. It consists of diet lifestyle and discipline to be followed in A particular Rithu. Structuring our diet and lifestyle according to the season holds the key to the boosted immunity and balanced life. 


Monsoon season is categorised as varsha rithu. During this season the aggravation of Vatha and Pitha Dosha is considered as causative factor of many diseases. 


DIET


According to Ayurveda Agni is responsible for digestive and metabolic activities of the body. During monsoon season agni Or digestive fire is weak, reduced pitha in the body results in many diseases. 


As joint pain is closely related to digestive fire we have to adopt the following lifestyle

-    drink small portions of lukewarm water throughout the day for good digestion


- easily digestible hot and light food should be taken


- Ginger,  black pepper, lemon can be used to promote digestion


- medicated porridges like rice porridge Millet porridge etc can be taken


- include honey in your diet


- avoid fried spicy and uncooked food



Grains 


- Opt for grains that are easily digestible so that body must not put a lot of effort to digest it


-Quinoa, sargam, wheat and rice are good options  to have during rainy season


Fruits


- Cherries, melon, fig and pears

Avoid heavy milkshake that are heavy to 

digest and is incompatible


Vegetables

You can have veggies like pumpkin, corn, beetroot, egg plant, sweet potato etc


But avoid spinach and methi.
